Hot Shower And Laundry on Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Hot showers and laundry facilities are easily available on the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek. All the lodges along the trail provide these facilities. Hot showers are common and frequent at lower elevations like Jhinu Danda (1,780m) and Chhomrong (2,170m). The showers are usually driven by solar panels or small generators. While ascending higher towards Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), hot showers become less common. This is due to limited electricity supply at high elevation. Hence, availability of hot water is weather and power dependent.
Likewise, laundry facility is also readily available along the ABC Trail. Many lodges will hand-wash clothes for a small fee. You can wash your clothes yourself in streams or basins if you prefer. Clothes will dry longer at higher altitudes due to cold temperatures. Also, laundry costs typically cost between NPR 150 to 300 per kilogram depending on the area and season. Many trekkers carry traveling detergent and quick-drying clothing for simpler washing.
Overall, these lodges along the ABC trail help you be more comfortable when trekking. Hot showers and laundry are provided to keep you clean during the 7 to 10 days trek. Facilities are minimal and even limited by weather or electricity sometimes. Because of this, you should prepare and bring your own washing supplies with you. Overall, there are hot shower and laundry facilities but varied on the trail during Annapurna Base Camp trek.
