India and Qatar on Tuesday formally exchanged an agreement on the establishment of a strategic partnership. The agreement was signed at Hyderabad House in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Qatari Emir arrived in India on Monday evening for a two-day visit. Jaishankar exchanged agreements. An amended agreement for the prevention of double taxation and the avoidance of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income was also announced. Another key agreement was exchanged between the Qatari Prime Minister and Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. A new milestone in India-Qatar relations These agreements will further strengthen trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries. India-Qatar bilateral relations will move forward in a new direction in the coming period. It was announced at a ceremony held at Hyderabad House that an amended agreement for the prevention of double taxation and fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income between India and Qatar has also been exchanged.
